To Clean or Not to Clean?

We all know the excitement that comes with moving into a new home, but what if you get there and have to clean up after the last person that lived there? You wouldn’t want to clean up someone else’s mess, so why leave your mess behind?

What’s Stopping You?

Time

While most people plan their move, there are many who have to move in a short time frame. This could be due to evictions, relocation or even a divorce.

No matter how much time you have, it is always great ‘moving etiquette’ to clean up after yourself. Try cleaning just the surface areas and removing as much of the dirt and items that you will not be taking with to your new place.

Nobody wants to move into a new house and have to remove unwanted furniture, and old food from the cupboards.

Man Power

It can be difficult to move to a new house if there are only 2 of you, by the time you’ve packed up and are ready to leave the last thing you’ll want to do is clean up.

While in the process of moving everything out try asking a few friends to help you, or hire someone to clean the house. This will make the move a lot easier for you as well as ensure that you leave your old house in a clean condition for its new owners.

Timing

Once the movers have transferred everything from your house into the moving van, you might notice that the house is in a very dirty condition. This is due to the movers walking up and down with messy shoes and moving furniture around the house. It is therefore important to clean up after everything has been removed from the house. There is usually less cleaning to be done and the house may only need a last sweep and mop.
